The Acai berry is harvested from giant palm trees in the Amazon basin and has been an important staple and medicinal food for the indigenous Brazilian population for centuries.

Modern scientific analysis has found the Acai berry to be abundant in phytochemicals, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, omegas and amino acids important for health.
