Hops
Hops is found in many pet remedies and used for both separation anxiety and the tendency towards hyper-excitability. Hops has a long history in supporting better sleep patterns, reducing panic attacks and reducing restlessness and nervousness.

Skullcap Skullcap has anti-bacterial, anti spasmodic, sedative and cooling properties and adds value as a nerve tonic helping ease irritability and nervousness and mental and emotional stress, anxiety and exhaustion. Skullcap is a nerve restorer and is often found in remedies with valerian root as they both work well without causing drowsiness
Valerian
Valerian is a natural tranquilizer used to calm and soothe, reduce pain and tension, and is particularly helpful for nervousness or terror. Epilepsy responds well to this herb and reduces seizure episodes. Valerian has traditionally been known as the sleep herb for its ability to induce a more peaceful sleep and to ease tension headaches and tension stomach pains.
Liquorice
Liquorice sourced from the root of the liquorice plant, Liquorice assists as an anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasm remedy and is cooling, a mild laxative, soothes gastric mucus, and is a specific remedy for adrenal exhaustion. Liquorice is valuable when suffering from chronic fatigue and digestive upsets. If an animal has been on steroids, Liquorice has been successfully used to support the body during the withdrawal process. Liquorice has been used traditionally for 3,000+ years.

Nettle
Nettle is included to add value for its nutritional properties. Nettle is rich in chlorophyll and many vitamins and minerals including magnesium, calcium and iron and the vitamins C, K, B2, B5, folic acid, beta-carotene, amino acids and other compounds that give nettle anti-anaemic, diuretic, anti-diabetic and haemostatic action. Nettle is commonly used to assist in clearing uric acid and for 'reactive' conditions in the body.

Note: As a precaution, pets that have really high blood pressure or congestive heart failure should avoid this remedy as it has contains Liquorice. The liquorice extract in this remedy is within the safe guidelines for use with these conditions however, it is best to be cautious. Pets that are about to breed should avoid this preparation a few days before breeding because of the valerian root.
