If you are finding it difficult to reduce your starchy carbohydrate intact; experiencing bloating; have excess weight around the waist or have difficulty reducing weight, we recommend taking the Kiwikitz™ Multi-Digestive Enzymes (carbohydrate and protein digestive aids) in addition to the Kiwikitz Blood Sugar Balance Support™ and requesting the Detox dietary recommendation handout.
Recommended foods: Reduce refined carbohydrates (white bread, white flour etc), Increase green beans - especially raw, peas and lentils. The soluble fibre that lowers cholesterol and blood sugar in beans make them a good daily choice. Navy and pinto beans have been shown to reduce the need for insulin by up to 38% in a group of test patients (Dr. James Anderson). Organic soybeans are also recommended.
Chromium - research has clearly demonstrated the link between a deficiency of chromium and the risk of developing diabetes. When sufficient levels of chromium are present, the body can produce the Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF) through intestinal bacteria.
Cinnamon - Cinnamon mimics insulin function. Cinnamin has been found to be effective in increasing the uptake of blood sugar and stimulating the synthesis of glycogen.
Goats Rue - potentates effects of insulin and may be helpful for hypoglycaemic conditions (guanidine derivatives). Goats Rue is known to rejuvenate pancreas cells.
Blue Flag - has a tonic action on the pancreas. Traditionally used for glands in general, especially the thyroid & salivary glands.
Gymnema - known for over 2000 years (named Gurma originally) by Ayurvedic healers as 'sugar destroyer' and treatment for 'sweet urine'. Gymnema produces blood glucose homeostasis and seems to still work weeks after clients have stopped using it. Does not seem to interfere with clients whose blood sugar levels are normal.
Turmeric - a favourite Ayurvedic herb used in many Kiwikitz products and prized for its cleansing and antioxidant properties. Beneficial effect on liver, gall bladder (stimulates bile to help fat digestion) & helps protect the liver from the effects of pharmaceutical drug medications, menstrual discomfo rt (stimulates menstruation) and used traditionally to keep food fresh (antioxidant properties) - also shown in laboratory setting to fight protozoan which would make this an excellent remedy for dysentery. Now being investigated for its ability to protect the heart - preventing blood clots that may cause strokes and heart attacks.
Milk Thistle - this wonderful herb is recommended as a restorative liver tonic and is a valuable addition to this recipe.
